STÜFF ("we," "our," or "us") is operated by CultureMakers. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our application at stuff.guru and our website at stuff.services (collectively, the "Service").
Information We Collect
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and authentication credentials. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google's authentication service.
Inventory Data: Items you scan or add to your inventory, including product names, brands, quantities, expiry dates, categories, room assignments, prices, and photos you upload.
Usage Data: How you interact with the Service, including features used, scan history, shopping list activity, and AI assistant conversations.
Device Information: Browser type, operating system, and device identifiers for push notification delivery and app functionality.
Payment Information: If you upgrade to a paid plan, payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number, CVV, or full payment details on our servers. Stripe's privacy policy governs payment data.
Dietary and Health Preferences: If you choose to provide dietary restrictions, allergies, or fitness goals to personalize Alfred AI suggestions, this information is stored in your profile and used solely to improve your experience.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- Send expiry alerts, low-stock notifications, and shopping list reminders
- Power Alfred AI assistant responses tailored to your inventory and preferences
- Process payments and manage subscriptions
- Communicate updates, new features, and support responses
- Generate anonymized, aggregated analytics to improve the product
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data in the following limited circumstances:
- Household Members: If you join or create a household, inventory data is shared with other household members you invite.
- Community Marketplace: If you list items on the community marketplace, the item name and general location are visible to other users in your area.
- Service Providers: We use third-party services including Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (payments), and AI providers (for Alfred assistant functionality). These providers access data only as needed to perform their services.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or the public.
Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase's cloud infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. We implement row-level security policies to ensure users can only access their own data. While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
Guest Mode
If you use STUFF in guest mode, your data is stored locally and temporarily. Guest data is not backed up to the cloud and will be lost after the session expires (12 hours). We do not collect personal information from guest users.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Export your inventory data
- Opt out of non-essential communications

Cookies and Tracking
The Service uses essential cookies and local storage for authentication and app functionality. We do not use third-party advertising trackers. Our website (stuff.services) uses Netlify's analytics which may collect anonymized page view data.
Children's Privacy
STUFF is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will promptly delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email or in-app notification. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
